THE PROPERTY OF A LADY
The artist was the daughter of the celebrated connoisseur Sir Abraham Hume. In 1793 she married Charles Long who was Knighted in 1820 and created Baron Farnborough in 1826. She was the favourite pupil of Thomas Girtin and her husband helped Girtin to travel to France in 1801. She lived at Bromley Hill Place in Kent and exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1807 and 1822.
