This is a rare set of nine anatomical charts by Amer-Frohse mounted in the original wooden wall bracket. The charts lithographed in colors show accurate and clear illustrations of the human body. The wall holder contains nine rolled charts, numbered from 1 to 7 and from 9 to 10. There is no room for a tenth chart. The very decorative charts were used for medical instruction, elucidating the anatomy of the skeleton, the muscles, the nervous system, the circulation/heart and skin, the ear and the eye, the chest and abdomen, the head and the neck, the endocrine glands as well as the male and female pelvis.

The lithographed charts are laid down on cloth and sewn to bars. The bars are made of pine, the original wooden box is of oak. The rolled up charts are mounted into the box and can be rolled out separately. The set was published by A.J. Nystrom & Co. Publishers, Chicago. Each chart has been numbered and inscribed with ‘Copyright 1918, by A.J. Nystrom & Co. All Rights Reserved for all Countries’ on the lower right.

The charts and the wooden box are in good condition with only slight traces of wear. The charts are lightly browned in the upper and lower areas, and some show water staining on the edges. Otherwise remarkably clean and well preserved charts. The dimensions of the charts are 186 x 104 cm, each. The image size is about 150 x 104 cm, and the dimensions of the wall holder are 126 x 54.5 x 8 cm. (cko)
