Oehler, Emmerich Meißen 1881 -
An art nouveau figure 'The Spring'
Meissen, around 1912/13. Porcelain, painted with purple, iron red, gold, black and grey. A female allegory of the spring accompanied by a putto. Crossed swords mark, incised model's number 'C 208', in iron red '27.'. Very small retouches, very small chip. H. 31 cm.

Notes

Oehler studied at the Dresden Academy under Georg Wrba and worked until 1914 for the Meissen Manufactory. He was a member of the Hamburg artist association and the German Künstlerverein and the German 'Werkbund'. He created numerous genre figures, children's figurines and animal figures.
