Description

This finely engraved map is of the United States. It was completed by John Arrowsmith in London in 1842.

John joined his uncle, Aaron, in 1810 in creating maps. They were leading cartographers in the beginning of the nineteenth century. John's maps and atlases were noted for their precision.

This map shows the Northwest Territory or Huron in great detail, as well as a larger Sioux region. It also shows Florida with early roads drawn.
