Literature

He is a landscape painter born in the province of Pinar del Río, Cuba, in 1964. He studied plastic arts at the School of National Art in the city of Havana. He was a teacher and instructor of plastic arts at the José Ramón Sánchez House of Culture, in La Palma, Pinar del Río, where he held his first solo exhibition in 1980, titled My Field. To his credit as a plastic artist, Sierra Felipe has participated in various events, festivals and exhibitions in the most important regional, municipal and national salons of his native country. In each landscape, he reflects nostalgia and the memories of his childhood among green trees and rivers of shady waters. His work as an independent artist dates back to 1996, where he is accredited to the Cuban Cultural Heritage Fund. The work of this Latin American artist is promoted in European countries such as Spain, Italy and the Netherlands, as well as on the American continent: Canada, Mexico, the United States, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela and Cuba. In the professional career of this Cuban painter, his participation in 7 individual and 16 group exhibitions stands out. In 1984 he moved to the former USSR where he held the painting and drawing exhibition entitled My palms, his memory. In 1987, he was followed by the exhibition of Landscapes in Spain, work that would arrive the following year at the Mennour art gallery, in the city of Paris, France. Venezuela has also served as a showcase to show Sierra's works, with the presentation of the Landscape Exhibition in 1999. Sierra presented in 2006 his collection Paisajes del alma, in the Dominican Republic. His group exhibitions have been appreciated in countries such as Italy, the United States, Venezuela and his native Cuba.
