NOTE

The drawing is glued at the four corners to an old album page with old numbers: 8 and 10, and bears a 19th century inscription: B. Vergine con Santi Dornati?/architettura del Francia. The style of this drawing shares characteristics with other drawings by Aliense, an artist who arrived in Venice in 1570 and worked first with Veronese and then with Tintoretto. The influence of Veronese is here particularly evident.
