Attributed to Cheung Yee, b.1936
Formed from overlapping copper panels to a central vertical frieze, the panels folded and twisted horizontally and pierced and torn to the raised areas, fixed with protruding copper nails down each side and flanked by further flat areas of copper, all around a wood framing,
234cm high, 112.5cm wide

  • Cheung Yee (b. 1936) is widely regarded as the pioneer of the contemporary art movement in Hong Kong. His work won him The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, (MBE) in 1979.

    Provenance;
    By family repute a gift from an expatriate General Surgeon surgeon resident in Kowloon, Hong Kong in the mid 1970's to the father of the current owners.
