According to Giorgio Vasari, Gerino was a friend of Bernardino Pinturicchio (1454-1513) and an imitator of Pietro Perugino (circa 1446/1450–1523). His major works include a Virgin at Sant'Agostino in Borgo San Sepolcro; works in the Cathedral of his native Pistoia, a Virgin and Child with Saints in San Pietro Maggiore, Pistoia, and works in the Convent of San Lucchese near Poggibonsi.
