Notes

No VAT will be charged on the hammer price, but VAT at 15% will be added to the buyer's premium which is invoiced on a VAT inclusive basis.
We are grateful to Dr. Rudi Ekkart of the RKD, The Hague, for suggesting the attribution, on the basis of photographs, and for dating the portrait to circa 1660, in the last period before the artist's departure from Amsterdam for Paris. The child is likely to be the member of a royal or a princely family, although his identity has not yet been established.
