Description

This highly decorative, folio chromolithograph is from George Ashdown Audsley's The Ornamental Arts of Japan. The work was published in New York by Charles Scribner's Sons in 1884. The work was limited to only 500 sets.

The images feature drawings, paintings, engravings, printing, embroidery, textile fabrics, lacquer, incrusted-work, metal-work, cloisonne enamel, modelling and carving. The work is one of the most sought after and comprehensive treatises on the Japanese arts.
