Notes

Auguste Paris studied under François Jouffroy, Alexandre Falguière, and Amedée Doublemard. He began exhibiting at the Salon in 1876 and won numerous prizes during his career, the highest being Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur in 1892. He won many public commissions for the town of Paris, notably the Danton monument at the Boulevard Saint-Germain.
