Washington is shown here at the 1755 Battle of the Monongahela during the French and Indian War, when a small band of French and Indians of several tribes defeated General Edward Braddock's British army.At the time of the attack, Washington was serving as an aide-de-camp to British General Edward Braddock. His bravery would help him earn the role as Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolution.
