Augustin Amant Constant FidÞle Edouart (1789-1861), Two framed portrait groups, full length silhouette portraits, cut on paper, inscribed note of the subjects and dated September 19th 1842 on verso, 21.5 x 32.5cm.; 8.5 x 12.75in (2). * Cut his first portrait at the age of twelve. He took the portraits of the President and Mrs Franklin Pierce in America in 1824. In 1862 he met his death as a member of the Confederate Army whilst filling a shell at Richmond, Virginia. Estimate
