charcoal drawing heightened with white, half-length in profile, signed and dated by Juliet Pannett and inscribed by her on the verso 'Professor A.J. Ayer Drawn at 13 Conway St. W1. on 13th April 1963 (I had another sitting for another portrait on 11th)', 14 x 21 in (35.6 x 53.3 cm).
