BAGETTI Giuseppe Pietro (Torino 1764-1831) - VIEW OF MUNICH

[English description] MUNICH, 1815 - (mm 420x710 ca.) - Print with brush and watercolouring, signed at left lower corner, with brush and brown watercolour “Bagetti f. Munich”. Excellent condition, glued on avory cardboard.

[Italian description] Dipinto originale a pennello ed acquerello su carta, firmato all'angolo inferiore sinistro, sempre a pennello ed acquerello bruno: "Bagetti f. Munich". L'opera è una bellissima veduta panoramica del celebre pittore e topografo piemontese. La città bavarese, colta dai dintorni oltre il fiume, è caratterizzata sia dall'emergere delle chiese gotiche e barocche, sia dai nuovi edifici di gusto neoclassico. Bagetti non rinuncia ad inserire, nei primi piani, particolari di raffinato gusto pittoresco come i panni stesi sui prati dalle lavandaie, i due viandanti sulla sinistra e la mandria di mucche sorvegliata dai pastori. Il taglio basso dell'orizzonte e la vastità del cielo solcato di nuvole conferiscono grande respiro vedutistico all'opera, che si colloca fra le migliori rappresentazioni della città tedesca nel primo Ottocento e che fu riprodotta dal viennese Jakob Hirtel in un'incisione su rame. Il dipinto può essere datato al 1815 circa, periodo nel quale Bagetti tornò a servire il Re di Sardegna dopo essere stato al servizio di Napoleone. Esemplare in ottimo stato conservativo, controfondato su cartoncino color avorio; minime irregolarità in corrispondenza della bordura nera dipinta sui quattro lati della veduta.

Payment

The winning bidders will not be allowed to withdraw the purchased items until the payment is successful. IMPORTANT NOTICE- In case of payment with Paypal IL CARTIGLIO will add an additional charge of 4% of the hammer price.

Where the contestation is founded on the basis of documents which in any case must be produced at the winner's expense, IL CARTIGLIO will be held exclusively for the repayment of sums already received, without interest, upon return of awarded goods without any further obligation to compensate in any way.

Export License

EXPORT LICENSES: a license from the Ministero dei Beni culturali will be required before items of certain kinds may be exported. The time required to get the export documentation needs from 30 to 90 days.
