We are grateful to Everett Fahy who, based on a photograph, has confirmed the attribution to Neroni. The facial features of the Madonna and figure of the Christ Child show the strong influence of Giovanni Antonio Bazzi, Il Sodoma who was Neroni's father in law and with whom he may have trained in Siena.
