Basil Ivan Rakoczi, (1908-1979) KILRONAN signed lower right; inscribed and dated [1944] on reverse pen and ink with watercolour on paper 29 by 39cm., 11.5 by 15.5in. Provenance: E2000-3000 Kilronan is a village on Killeany Bay, Inishmore Island. Rák=czi first visited the West of Ireland in July 1939, returning periodically throughout the war to various villages in Connemara and the Aran Islands.
