Bela Balogh (Hungarian, b. ca. 1900) Still Life with Flowers and Fruit. Oil on canvas, signed at the lower right corner, framed in a carved corner frame with curves and flowers, finished in gold metal leaf, the canvas size measuring approx. 24" x 30", and with the frame overall 30" x 35-3/4". The subject is the principal still life setting for which the artist was known. This attractive composition demonstrates the mature skill Balogh developed in rendering pretty formal objects in a realistic manner.
