Item Overview

Description

BEN NASON
New Haven Railroad/Connecticut.
The Connecticut River cuts through the center of its namesake state, flowing into Long Island Sound, Connecticut's outlet to the Atlantic Ocean. With this geographic tidbit firmly in place, Nason simply condenses the matter-of-fact, rendering the Connecticut as it meanders from covered bridge to idyllic pastoral calm to the non-bustle of a 'green' around which a quaint riverside village is centered. Certainly, the New Haven services the state, yet Nason would seem to be saying that once a traveler has used the railroad's service to arrive there, it's best to roam the river to discover whatever is closest to one's heart. And seeing as Connecticut is ranked forty-eighth in state size, a couple free days make this an entirely plausible undertaking.
