Bennett Hound Handle "Stag and Boar Hunt" Rockingham Pitcher," American, Baltimore, Maryland, ca 1850, of Rockingham glazed earthenware, attributed to E. & W. Bennett. Designed by master modeler Charles Coxon and patterned after an English design by C.J. Mason (1826-45), and depicting a boar and stag hunt, 9.75" high to top of handle; 9.25" high to spout. (See Goldberg 2003: 30, fig. 5, Stradling 2005: 46-top, and Henrywood 1984: 169, fig. 196.) Tight hairline to rim on right side.
