Possibly a gift from the Emperor William II to his aunt Princess Helena, Princess Christian of Schleswig-Holstein, 1902.
By descent to H.H. Princess Marie Louise, formerly Princess Marie Louise of Schleswig-Holstein and by gift to
H.R.H. The Princess Mary, Princess Royal, Countess of Harewood (1897-1965), 1946 (according to a label attached to the reverse of the frame) and by descent at Harewood House, Yorkshire.
