Description

This charming botanical engraving is from Pancrace Bessa’s work L'Herbier Generale de L'Amateur. The work was published in Paris in 1820.

Bessa is one of the greatest botanical artists of the 19th century. He learned from the renowned Pierre J. Redoute. Herbier General is considered his finest work and had the support of the Duchesse de Berry.
