Birth Certificate Fraktur by Daniel Peterman (1797-1871), York County, Pennsylvania, c. 1826, watercolor and ink birth certificate for Leon Hart Widman and his wife Catharina and commemorating their son John, the central script flanked by women dressed in long gowns holding flowers; one has a purse, the other has birds; both standing on clouds; drooping tulips; man playing harp and woman holding scales, both floating on blue clouds; top has pot of vining flowers with two long-tailed birds; inscribed "Made by Daniel Peterman Paradise Township, York County, Pennsylvania," in a black corner block frame, ht. 17 1/4, wd. 19 3/4 in.

Condition Report

Very minor toning to sheet, a half inch closed tear on the right edge partially effecting a tulip, a three quarter and a one quarter inch closed tear on the left edge not effecting the image. A minor loss to the upper right corner. Not examined out of the frame.
