BLAZICEK Oldrich (5. 1. 1887 Slavkovice in Moravia - 3. 5. 1953 Prague) Winter - study Oil on cardboard, 72 x 68 cm, framed, glazed, undated [1909 - 1910], signed lower right, verification of authenticity by the artist dated 1952 at the back. This lot is a remarkable example of Blazicek's open air painting. Forms are rendered in swift, precise brush strokes, having a somewhat Art Nouveau character which is mainly apparent in the trees. The palette is reduced to several basic colours with dominating blues and browns.
