Tozer (Mary (b.1947)). "The Lady Who Loved the Fairies" [as titled to label on verso of frame], 1978, watercolour, of an elderly seamstress in her crowded kitchen, busily sewing the hem of a fairy perched on a chair, signed and dated, approx. 255 x 310 mm (10 x 12 ins), mounted, framed and glazed Mary Tozer studied at Reigate College of Art. She worked as a technical illustrator and textile designer for a period, but is best known for her illustrations for children's books. (1)
