Small engraved oval portrait on title (without the half title, title possibly laminated, title and advertisement leaf browned, mainly marginal spotting, staining and browning). Contemporary half calf (rebacked by Sotheran, rubbed). Provenance: some early annotation, including one page in French at the end; author's name added to title in later manuscript. FIRST EDITION, ?second issue. Keynes 67: "... [Liber Amoris] has always been regarded by booksellers as having a curiosa interest, which has enhanced its market value."
