It has wide scope, encompassing recent discoveries in the Americas, inlcuding a plan of the city of Mexico ("Temistitan") before its destruction by Cortez. This edition is printed with the same woodcut maps designed for the first edition of 1528. The map on A6v represents the Americas, appearing as 'Terra de lavoratore' after João Fernandes of the Azores; two fictitious islands named 'Brasil' and 'Asmaide' are shown as often at this date (cf. Burden). The large double-page maps are of the world, Venice, the Mediterranean, and the Archipelago. Adams A-2482; Burden 8; Sabin 6419; Sander 1230; Shirley 59.
