Description

C.1785, {Nathan} Adams, Danvers, Massachusetts, very rare Mass shelf clock, brass dial, with rolling moon and seconds bit. Condition: the mahogany case retains old finish, made with a broken arch hood, bracket feet and a lower door with applied fluted pilasters. Two lead weights are later, minute hand replaced {cut to match & not obvious}, one lower hood molding replaced, top door {with tulips} replaced in 1955. Provenance: Sheldon Hoch purchased this clock at Bourne's Anthony Sposato Sale #1, Hyannis, lot 72, Oct 29, '85.
