The triptych is on a large scale, nearly life size. The result is a presentation to the viewer to enter the sets and wander around. If one does look closer, one sees amongst the claustrophobic squalor, items of both fine art and kitsch – “’pictures with mirrors and icon-crowded sanctuaries.’” In Cenotaph, Colvin makes us look at the unusual shapes and peculiar combination of items, allowing the viewer to see the objects in a different way.Estimate: $1,500—2,000
