NOTE

Friedrich Graf von Spreti pursued an army career and became major in 1848. From 1851 to 1857 he was at war ministry, made general major in 1857 and left the army as General lieutenant in 1865. He was part of the household of the Duchess Amalie of Leuchtenberg, widow of Napoleon's son Eugène. In this capacity he accompanied Duke August of Leuchtenberg to Brazil when his sister Princess Amalie married the Brazilian Emperor Dom Pedro 1.

Offered together with a portrait of Joseph Sigmund Graf von Kreith (1799-1890) in uniform, pastel, oval height 42 cm. This Joseph Sigmund Count Kreith was born 1799 and died 1890. He was Royal Bavarian state counseller. He was married to Adelheid Freiin von Pienzenau (1779-1858).
