A panorama of the Colosseum, Rome signed and dated 'C Coleman pinx 1839' (lower left) oil on canvas 221/2 x 37 7/8 in. (57.2 x 96.3 cm.) NOTES Charles Coleman left England for Rome in 1835 where he painted the roman campagna and vedute such as this one of the Colosseum. The next lot shows a watercolour version of a similar view.
