Notes

A painter of Genre and animal subjects, Tschaggeny was a student of Verboeckoven, Wappers, H. Leys and Kayser. He exhibited in Belgium, France and England, gaining medals at Brussels in 1845 and becoming Chevalier de l'ordre Léopold in 1851. Anvers, Brussels, Courtrai, Leipzig and Neuchatel museums have conserved his works.
