Provenance: The four paintings offered here, Lots 10-13 inclusive, were collected by Sir Alan Donald, K.C.M.G., The British Ambassador to Beijing during the years 1988-1991. According to family tradition, Sir Alan purchased two of the paintings and was given the other two. All were acquired under the auspices of Sir Alan's friend, the then Vice-Minister of Culture, Ying Ruo Cheng. Thence by direct family descent.
