CHITTUSSI Antonin (1. 12. 1847 Ronov nad Doubravkou - 1. 5. 1891 Prague) Stream on a meadow Oil on a wooden panel, 64 x 108 cm, framed, undated, signed lower left, verification of authenticity by V. Nechleba from 1943 at the back. Provided with a laboratory report by Dorothea Pechova and an expertise by professor PhDr Roman Prahl. Antonin Chittussi is considered the first modern Czech landscape painter - Impressionist. He studied at the Academy of Arts in Munich and under professor Lhota and Trenkwald at the Prague Academy of Arts and in Vienna, but his stay in Paris had the greatest impact on his work.
