a very fine copy of this rare work. "The author, numismatist and miscellaneous writer on history and politics, started on his travels in 1850. He visited the Balearic Islands, Greece, Constantinople and Asia Minor. Half the work is on Greece and Asia Minor. The three frontispieces illustrate Corfu, Palma and Ephesus, after drawings by the author" (Blackmer).
