CIRCLE OF ARTHUR DEVIS (BRITISH, 1711-1787) Portrait of a young girl, traditionally identifed as Catherine Smith Barry (1751-1795), as a young girl, standing full-length, in a pink dress and bonnet, before a blue curtain with identifying inscription ‘Daughter of Honble. John and Dorothy Smith-Barry’ (on a label on the reverse) oil on canvas 43 3/4 x 35 1/2 in. (101 x 90 cm.) in a carved and gilded 18th century frame, with inscription ‘B174’ (on the stretcher and on the reverse of the frame)
