COCKBURN, James Pattison (?1779-1847). Views to Illustrate the Route of the Simplon. London: Rodwell and Martin, 1822. 2° (460 x 315mm). 49 lithographed plates by J. Harding after J. P. Pattison only (of 50, lacking plate XXVI, mainly marginal spotting, staining and browning). Contemporary red half morocco gilt (rubbed, some staining and ink spotting). Provenance: "Mary Francis from C. Blatherwick, Feb. 4th 1856" (inscription on title) -- later pencil annotation to title. Charles Blatherwick (d.1895) was an artist and founder member of the Royal Society of Watercolourists. Not in Abbey.
