Coster (Howard, 1885-1959). Portrait of Gilbert Keith Chesterton (1874-1936, novelist and critic), [1926], bromide print, showing Chesterton three-quarter length seated and in part profile with one hand on a walking stick top against a plain background, some light marks to upper blank area of image, signed in pencil by the photographer upper left corner ÔHoward Coster FRSA' and with his copyright stamp to verso, 27.5 x 20cm. Coster became a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in 1937 making the printing of this photograph no earlier than that date. (1)
