Photographers working in Rome often documented the excavation and changes of the ancient monuments at the time of their occurence. The view of the Forum Romanum in this lot shows the newly planted trees along the Via Sacra which were planted in 1855 and can therefore be dated within this period. - Creases and several backed tears, paper loss in corners, Vesta print with larger loss in upper left corner, Forum Romanum print slightly faded.
