Description

A 19th century carved and painted plaster and brass horse drawn sleigh model with figures after Currier & Ives print THE ROAD, WINTER 1853. The riders are Nathaniel Currier and his wife Eliza. The print was a surprise gift from employees at Currier’s Lithography shop given as a Christmas present. This was a regular C&I window store display in New York City at Nassau & Spruce St. for many years during the holidays. Size: 55 long x 20 high x 19 inches deep. Plaster sleigh base restored, some restoration to horses.
