DAVID BOLDUC (1945-2010)SKETCH #1acrylic and watercolour on papersigned, titled and dated /82 36.75 ins x 30 ins; 93.3 cms x 76.2 cms Provenance:Private Collection, TorontoA prolific artist, David Bolduc’s abstract paintings are known for their poetic and lyrical qualities. Often inspired from motifs in nature, such as flowers, trees and stars, Bolduc interpreted his subjects using a colourful palette, building bold impastoed surfaces. Born in Toronto, David Bolduc spent one year at the Ontario College of Art before moving to study at the Museum of Fine Arts School under Jean Goguen. It was in Montreal that he would hold his first solo show at the Elysse Theatre in 1966. His artistic career spanned over three decades and included an extensive exhibition schedule with galleries such as the David Mirvish Gallery and later the Christopher Cutts Gallery in Toronto. Bolduc passed away in 2010 at the age of 65. His work is represented in public collections throughout Canada. Estimate: $1,000–1,500
