signed. Kindleberger was active in Washington DC from 1870-1905. He was a member of the Washington Artist Club and the Society of Washington Artists. He exhibited at the National Academy of Design (1877) and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art (1880s-90s). He was a surgeon in the U.S. Navy for more than thirty years (1859-1896), and had been promoted to Medical Director of the Navy before he retired. His work is in the collection of the California Historical Society.
