Description

David Prentice, British b.1936- "Thrift", 1975; ink, chalk, pva, collage and mixed media, bears artist's own label attached to the reverse of the frame, 22.2x22.2cm. Note: David Prentice studied at Birmingham College of Art and Design. He was co-founder and director of the Ikon Gallery in Birmingham 1965-71. He has had numerous solo shows, including The Serpentine Gallery, London 1971, and won the Singer & Friedlander/Sunday Times Watercolour competition in 1990. Internationally, he exhibited in Frankfurt, Betty Parsons Gallery in New York and the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1965. His work is held by many public collections including the Victoria and Albert Museum and The Art Institute of Chicago. (may be subject to Droit de Suite)
