David Prentice, British b.1936- "Thrift", 1975; ink, chalk, pva, collage and mixed media, bears artist's own label attached to the reverse of the frame, 22.2x22.2cm. Note: David Prentice studied at Birmingham College of Art and Design. He was co-founder and director of the Ikon Gallery in Birmingham 1965-71. He has had numerous solo shows, including The Serpentine Gallery, London 1971, and won the Singer & Friedlander/Sunday Times Watercolour competition in 1990. Internationally, he exhibited in Frankfurt, Betty Parsons Gallery in New York and the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1965.
