Drawings by Alsloot are extremely rare and therefore often given to other artists. His style is, however, very distinctive and the present sheet is very comparable to a number of signed examples. One is in the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Paris, two are in Munich, and a further five are at Schloss Wolfegg, while another was sold, Amsterdam, Mak van Waay, 18 November 1980, lot 20. (1)
