Provenance: Anthropologist Franz Boas [1858-1942] (bookplate). FIRST EDITION, FIRST ISSUE, WITH AN INTERESTING ASSOCIATION. An Expedition to establish a fur trade in North America. Dixon completed a more detailed map of the Northwest American coast than that of Cook. The Queen Charlotte visited Hawaii three times and the narrative includes much of interest on the chiefs and political atmosphere of the period.
