Buying at MoreArt Auctions

Buyers Premium: The buyer shall pay the auctioneer a commission of 18% of the hammer price. VAT is payable on the commission at the prevailing rate.

Bidding Increments: Bidding increments will be as follows: 0-100 by 5, 100-200 by 10, 200-500 by 20, 500-1000 by 50 and over 1000 by 100, however the auctioneer can deviate from this at his discretion.

Buying Online: MoreArt Auctions do not charge any additional fees for purchasing online. We do ask however that all customers pay particular attention to our payment and collection terms. If buying online it is the purchasers responsibility to make sure that they have satisfied themselves with the condition of the lot and if applicable any frame it may have.

We offer two forms of online bidding; pre auction bidding and live auction bidding. Pre auction bidding require you to register at MoreArt Auction web-page.

Pre Auction Bidding: This feature allows customers to place bids on any lots before the auction starts. You will be asked to enter your bid with the highest amount you would be willing to pay for the item.

Live auction bidding: This feature allows customers to bid on each lot in the same manner as someone in the room would. To place bids in MoreArt auctions via the internet, you must register and get approved to bid through Artfact (www.artfact.com ).

Registration: To register with either of these websites, click on the 'Live Online Bidding', 'Join' or 'Member Login & Sign up' icon on their website home page, provide your contact information (name, address, phone, and email address), set up a user name and password, and agree to a terms of use statement. Artfact.com also offers users the opportunity to receive alerts regarding upcoming auctions that offer items relating to particular areas of interest.

Approval to Bid: Once registered, you must receive approval to bid in each auction listed on the Artfact.com website. To receive approval, click on the 'Get Approved to Bid' or 'Bid Now' icon next to the auction listing. (NOTE: you will need to log in with your user name and password before getting the Approval to Bid page.) The Approval to Bid page is a secure site that will request your credit card information, and ask you to agree to … conditions of sale, buyer's premium, and shipping details. After providing the requested information, click on the 'Submit' button.

You will receive an automatic on screen message and an instant email (to your registered address) confirming approval to bid. The only exception would be if you have a previous history of internet auction non-payment or disputes. In this case, your bid approval request will be considered on an individual basis, with a decision within 2 days.

Live Internet Bidding: Live bids may be placed by approved Artfact bidders on any item as it is being sold in the auction. To bid live, log in to your user account, go to the auction listing, and click on the 'Watch Now' icon. When you do this, the bidder console will open so that you can see and participate in the auction.

Payment: All purchases must be paid for within 5 calendar days of the sale. Goods will only be released upon clearance through the bank of all monies due. We accept all major credit or debit cards or bank transfer. We do not charge any surcharge for the use of credit cards. Shipping: MoreArt Auction can pack and send consignments and every effort will be made to ensure items are properly packed and, where possible, insurance taken by the service provider, no responsibility can be accepted by MoreArt Auction or their staff or agents for any loss or damage howsoever arising. Safe transit of purchases by hand, courier or shipper is at the sole risk of the purchaser.
