Notes

Duke Adam was the son of Duke Louis of Württemberg from his first marriage to Princess Marie Czartoryski (divorced in 1793). A nephew of King Frederick I of Württemberg (see lots 146 and 147), he was a Prussian General and Adjutant-General to the Emperor of Russia. The present miniature was painted in St. Petersburg where Domenico Bossi worked from 1802.
