Donald Gilbert, FRBS (1900-1961), a bronze figural bookend of a bear, seated on a stylised icy base, signed 'Gilbert D Sc', on a marble plinth, 19cm high overall Donald Gilbert was the son of the sculptor Walter Gilbert. As well as working on sculpture in a wide range of materials he also worked on ceramic designs for animals for both Ashtead Potters and Denby Pottery
