Dorothy King R.B.A. (1907-1990) Three young ballerinas Pastel Signed and dated '85 lower right 50cm x 65cm A Collection of works by Dorothy King And Francis Helps Dorothy King R.B.A. (1907-1990) After studying at Hornsey School of Art and the Slade School of Art, the Second World War began and she set aside her career and worked first as a Welfare Officer and later as a Supervisorat various rest centres. After the war she took up painting professionally and in 1947 was elected a member of the Royal society of British Artists. In the later years of her life she spent time teaching art classes at Southwark.
