Small 2° (255 x 171mm). 10 tinted aquatints, of which one is a vignette on the title with another vignette in the text, plate V with the caption 'This fossil in the possession of Sir Joseph Banks', all the plates signed with the cipher 'JD' so presumably by the author. (Lacking the dedication to Sir Joseph Banks, plate I with light dampstain, very light spotting to a couple of leaves only.) Modern quarter calf. Provenance: Salford Free Library (faint ink stamp and ms. shelfmark to title, ink stamp to one text leaf and to verso of plates).
